National Grilled Cheese Day

April 12th marks National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day!  Celebrate with a traditional grilled cheese or get creative with any of these sweet and savory takes on this classic.

Want a simple way to switch things up?  Use a different cheese or bread.  Mozzarella, swiss, provolone, pepper jack, feta, gouda or goat cheese are just a few options!  Use whole wheat or white bread, or try challah, cinnamon raisin, sourdough, pumpernickel, english muffins or ciabatta bread instead.

Turn a BLT into a grilled cheese with this recipe for a Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Grilled Cheese.  Love avocado?  Add some to your BLT grilled cheese.  Make it lighter by using turkey bacon in place of regular bacon.
