| Unlike those in
the group of flowering potted plants,
these flowering plant varieties can
take up permanent residence indoors.
Their floral displays attract the
most attention, however, many of these
plants provide decorative foliage
interest when not in bloom. Their
floral season may last only a short
period or may occur intermittently
for most of the year, with a blossom
lasting only a day or several months
depending on the variety.

Flowering and Specialty Houseplants
can be expected to live permanently
under room conditions and to rebloom
provided that their particular needs
are met. Some types need to overwinter
in an unheated room and a few need
to spend part of the summer outdoors.
As a general rule these plants will
require more light than foliage plants. |
